CTV back for more So You Think You Can Dance

As the third season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada nears an October climax, CTV has ordered a fourth cycle.

CTV said fourth season auditions will start November 6 in New Brunswick before dancing their way westwards with another four city stops.

The latest episode of SYTYCDC on Wednesday night at 1.1 million total viewers was 6% from last week’s audience of 1.05 million.

And the reality TV show is hitting with all demos for CTV, with the key A18-34 audience for this past Wednesday night’s performance episode up 9 % to 251,000 viewers from a week-earlier 230,000 viewers.

The Thursday night results shows at 8:30 p.m. will continue to follow CBS’ Big Bang Theory for another month on CTV before SYTYCDC wraps and is replaced by the William Shatner-starring sitcom $#*! My Dad Says shifting from the A Channels.

The success of the Canadian dance competition series comes as the CBC similarly finds success with non-verbal reality TV programming with Battle of the Blades, an ice dancing competition series.

SYTYCDC, based on the U.S. competition series format, is produced for CTV by Danse TV Productions, with Sandra Faire and Trisa Dayot executive producing.

Senior producers are Bronwyn Warren and Millan Curry-Sharples.
