Karl Golden’s British-set rave drama Weekender from Alliance Films and UK production partner Benchmark Films has added Jack O’Connell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Emily Barclay to the marquee.
The music-driven thriller, penned by Chris Coghill, portrays two best mates, played by O’Connell and Lloyd-Hughes, exploring Britain’s 1990s acid house rave scene.
The producers earlier signed up Ben Batt, Stephen Wight and Tom Meeten to the ensemble cast.
Producer credits on Weekender belong to Benchmark Films’ Ian Brady and Stephen Salter, and Alliance Films’ Robert Walak.
Alliance Films will release the picture in Canada, while its subsidiaries Momentum Pictures and Aurum Producciones will release Weekender in Britain and Spain, respectively.
