It Could Be Worse for Cineflix Studios

Luckily for the recently formed Cineflix Studios, the prodco’s scripted division, It Could Be Worse, You Could Be Me is only the name of its first optioned publishing property.

It Could Be Worse is written by journalist Ariel Leve, which was published this past spring by HarperCollins, based on the weekly column Cassandra in the London Sunday Magazine Times.

Leve was on board to write a pilot script based on the book and Chris Keyser (Party of Five, Lone Star) will consult on the single-camera, half-hour comedy. Set in New York, it follows the life of Cassandra, a late-thirties woman.

Cineflix is slated to shop around the project to U.S. broadcasters this summer. The deal was brokered by Creative Artists Agency, Dan Halsted/Management and Rob Weisbach Creative Management.
