A trio of Canadian actors have been cast in an upcoming Syfy pilot that will be shot in Toronto this month.
Noah Reid (Franklin, Jane and the Dragon) will be taking on the lead role in Three Inches, in which his superhero character can move objects with his mind only three inches. Reid will also appear in this coming TIFF’s opening film Score: A Hockey Musical.
Lisa Parasyn of Lisa Parasyn & John Comford Casting told Playback Daily that SCTV alum Andrea Martin has also signed on to play Reid’s mother, and they’ll be joined by Kyle Schmid (A History of Violence, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) in a recurring role.
The two-hour pilot will shoot in Toronto from August 30 to Sept. 23. It’s directed by Jace Alexander (Rescue Me, Law & Order) with showrunner Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks) and executive produced by Bob Cooper (Amistad).
Reid is repped by Gary Goddard Agency, Martin by Oscars Abrams Zimel + Associates in Toronto and Innovative Artists in Santa Monica, and Schmid by Toronto’s Noble Caplan Abrams and Innovative Artists.
