The Canuck talker 1 Girl 5 Gays from MTV Canada is headed to the U.S. following a deal with the gay and lesbian cable channel Logo, the CTV-owned specialty announced on Wednesday.
Season one of the Toronto-shot series will have its U.S. premiere in October. 1 Girl is the third original MTV Canada show to be seen in the U.S. following The After Show and the Whistler-based docu-series Peak Season.
1 Girl follows host Aliya-Jasmine Sovani’s frank and often eyebrow-raising discussions on sex and relationships with a panel of five gay men. The series bowed on MTV Canada in Oct. 2009 and currently airs Fridays at midnight.
‘Our jaws dropped (in a good way) for this bold show that addresses all the outrageous questions we ask ourselves about sex and relationships,’ commented Logo’s SVP of multiplatform programming Marc Leonard in a release.
