Corus announces fall sched for VIVA, Cosmo

Corus Entertainment announced its fall programming schedule yesterday, with several new original series and a programming block called ‘Reality Mondays.’

Corus’ VIVA channel is debuting two new original series this fall. Murder She Solved is a one-hour documentary series that profiles female investigators who helped crack major murder cases in Canada. Produced by Force Four Entertainment in association with VIVA, the eight-episode series will debut Saturday, Sept. 11 at 10 p.m.

The Devil You Know, an eight-episode program from Make Believe Media, will turn the lens on the victim. The series helps individuals who were duped by con artists or victimized by sexual predators share their stories with the help of an on-camera expert psychologist. The Devil You Know debuts Saturday, Sept. 25 at 11 p.m.

In The Locator, host Troy Dunn helps reunite long-lost family members and friends, often ending a life-long search for missing loved ones. Debuting Sunday, Sept. 5 at 5:30 p.m., The Locator is a U.S.-based show but will see its Canadian network debut with 10 episodes in the fall. Like all three new VIVA series, the show’s target demo is women aged 25 to 64.

Several new programs are also debuting on Corus’ Cosmo that will run, along with season three of The Rachel Zoe Project, as a ‘Reality Mondays’ package.

Each episode of StylOgraphy profiles three Hollywood stars – it looks at how their style has changed over the years but finds a common theme in either their runway or red-carpet looks. Produced by Pyramid Productions and CosmoTV, the 13-episode series uses archived footage as well as exclusive interviews with stars, designers and stylists who comment on the looks. The experts then show viewers how they can copy the looks themselves through hairdos, makeup and clothing. The series debuts Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 9:30 p.m.

Kelly Cutrone, a cantankerous publicist who handles high-profile fashion clients in New York City, finally has her own show (after appearances on The City and The Hills) called Kell On Earth. Debuting Monday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m., the series follows Cutrone as she runs her PR firm People’s Revolution and attends Fashion Week while juggling ordinary duties as a single mom. The series, like all Cosmo programming, targets women aged 18 to 49 and will run for eight episodes.

High Society also follows New York socialites, focusing on Tinsley Mortimer who is noted as a ‘Park Avenue Princess.’ Mortimer’s friends engage in scandalous behaviour like only people with too much money and time on their hands can. The eight-episode series debuts Monday, Sept. 13 at 10 p.m.

Those who have romantic notions of what it’s like to be a flight attendant will probably have their ideas confirmed by Fly Girls, an eight-episode series about Virgin America flight attendants. The half-hour series profiles five women as they travel through the United States while dealing with annoying passengers and roommate conflicts (the women share a ‘crash pad’ in Los Angeles). Fly Girls is a half-hour program that airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. It debuts on Oct. 6.
