Montreal actress Claudia Ferri (Mambo Italiano, Ciao Bella) is starring in the American indie crime drama The Exodus of Charlie Wright.

The film follows a Los Angeles billionaire who fled to Tijuana, Mexico after he was busted for creating one of the largest Ponzi schemes in U.S. history.

Aidan Quinn portrays Charlie, while Andy Garcia also stars in the film, written and directed by newcomer R. Ellis Frazier. Ferri plays Mary, the woman Wright abandoned 25 years previously, who he travels to Mexico to find. He’s pursued by a Mexican gangster (Garcia) and a federal agent.

Ferri, who speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish, has just returned from shooting in Mexico. Charlie Wright will be released in fall 2010 or early 2011 and is distributed by Maya Entertainment.
