The makers of CBC’s Being Erica will receive the innovative producer award at next week’s Banff World Television Festival.
Temple Street Productions is being honored for its ‘incredible achievement in television and digital media,’ according to a recent release from organizers. The prize is sponsored by Lionsgate/Maple Pictures.
Special awards will also be given to Panavision, which is being feted with the Deluxe outstanding technical achievement award, while acclaimed documentary filmmaker Louie Psihoyos — who garnered an Oscar this year for The Cove – will receive the Green Grand prize for creating public awareness and understanding of environmental issues.
Temple Street is currently readying a third season of Erica for CBC. The prodco is also behind projects including the half-hour series Wingin It for Family Channel, reality Canada’s Next Top Model for CTV, and Showcase’s Billable Hours.
Banff runs June 13-16.
