Jay Switzer is a busy man these days. The 25-year industry veteran has been elected chairman of Glassbox Television’s board of directors, replacing Raja Khanna who currently serves in the position.

Khanna and Jeffrey Elliot remain co-CEOs of the company.

Switzer is the former president and CEO of CHUM, which was taken over by CTVglobemedia in 2007. He has been on Glassbox’s board of directors since 2008. He also currently serves on the boards of William F. White International, OUTtv and The Canadian Centre for Diversity.

Switzer was recently in the news when he unveiled plans to launch four new Category 2 specialty channels, including Velocity and Adventure, and Kiss and The Love Channel. The application is currently before the CRTC. Switzer has said he hopes to see the channels on air by fall.
