IFC Films has picked up One Week, taking all U.S. rights to the road-trip drama that has paid off so well for Mongrel Media and director Michael McGowan. The deal was brokered by Arianna Boccho and Elizabeth Nastro for IFC, and Charlotte Mickie for international rights holder E1 Entertainment.
The picture brought in some $1.3 million upon its domestic release last spring. It has sold to other territories including Germany, Switzerland, Poland and the Middle East.
McGowan says he’s proud that his ‘love-letter to Canada is able to be seen by audiences around the world.’ He is currently at work on Score: A Hockey Musical with Olivia Newton-John, Nelly Furtado and others.
