CFC tackles zombies

Just in time for Halloween, the Canadian Film Centre is showing off its latest web series, Seth on Survival. The horror-minded how-to by CFC alumna Teri Armitage and Torin Stefanson offers tips on dealing with supernatural threats such as zombies, werewolves and vampires.

It follows a supernatural survivalist, played by Ephraim Ellis (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Falcon Beach), who researches and tests tips from his mom’s suburban basement. He is aided by his studious and high-strung best friend, portrayed by Jonathan Malen (Charlie Bartlett, The Rocker).

Seth on Survival debuted Thursday as a series of five five-minute episodes, hoping to draw an order for more from a broadcaster or web outlet. It follows another unusual CFC web series, Dennis Heaton’s My Pal Satan, which bowed in the spring.

Survival was developed as part of CFC’s pilot program for emerging TV makers, and is co-created by Armitage and Stefanson.
