Joytv has announced its fall programming slate, which includes two new Canadian series — P3: People, Places, Perspectives and Ek Noor — and a revamped version of The Standard, which ran on the two stations when they were part of the OMNI group.
Joytv serves the Vancouver and Winnipeg area as Joytv 10 and Joytv 11, respectively.
The half-hour P3: People, Places, Perspectives, shot in Vancouver, will explore issues from sexuality to spirituality. It will run between four and five nights a week — starting Aug. 31 on Joy 10, Sept. 14 on Joy 11 — at 10 p.m. Joytv has commissioned 260 episodes, targeting the 25-54 demographic, with a 60:40 female skew.
Ek Noor, will run only on Joytv 10, Monday to Thursday at 10:30 p.m., though its premiere date has yet to be determined. The half-hour program explores issues of faith and other matters of interest to Punjabi Canadians. Also taped in Vancouver, the show is to run 208 episodes until August 2010.
The Standard is an hour-long current affairs interview program that originally aired on OMNI. Joytv has resurrected the title, but the format has been revamped, and now features new host Peter Klein (60 Minutes). The Standard will debut on Joytv 10 on Sept. 4, and airs Fridays at 9 p.m., with repeats Sundays at 8 p.m. The program will debut on Joytv 11 on Sept. 18 and airs Fridays at 10 p.m., with repeats Sundays at 7 p.m.
The show is contracted to run for 52 weeks and targets the 25-54 demographic, skewing 60:40 female.
