CBC readies more Dragons

Dragons’ Den will be on the road again next week, looking for entrepreneurs willing to pitch their ideas in season four, which will launch on CBC in October.

The audience for the reality series has grown by 128% since its first season launched in October 2006, says Julie Bristow, CBC’s head of factual entertainment. Last season averaged 777,000 per episode, with 421,000 in the target demo of 25-54s. Bristow says the audience also tends to skew younger than some of CBC’s other fact ent series.

‘When the ‘Dragons’ go out to public events, university-age people are always well represented. I just think the spirit of entrepreneur-ism plays to the younger crowd,’ says Bristow.
