The Toronto International Film Festival Group has hired Jennifer Bell, putting the former Alliance exec atop its PR efforts as VP of communications. The new position will see Bell — who held a similar post at Alliance Atlantis for many years — oversee internal and external communications at the organization, including media relations.

‘She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in corporate and internal communications as well as media relations,’ said TIFFG head Piers Handling in a release.

The appointment takes effect on March 9. Bell was most recently in PR at the mining firm Vale Inco.
