Another digi-deal at TVO

TVOntario says it will start selling songs and videos from its preschool programming over iTunes, starting this spring. The educaster said Thursday that a new partnership with the Apple music store will see its content sold on a download-to-own basis in North America, Japan, Europe and Australia/New Zealand.

It is the latest move into the digital realm by TVO, which recently has also inked deals with YouTube and Joost.

TVO and iTunes will share revenue on a per-download basis. ‘Developing partnerships that enable TVO to tap into new sources of self-generated revenue is an important strategy in developing a sustainable business model for TVO,’ said channel CEO Lisa de Wilde in a statement.
