Heather Allin is at the helm of ACTRA Toronto following her election as the union’s new president for a two-year term, effective immediately.
Allin takes over for Karl Pruner to head the largest organization within the performers union with over 15,000 members.
‘I will work hard to improve performers’ rights and the development of a strong Canadian film and television industry, ensuring that Canadian shows are seen on our television screens and in our movie theatres,’ commented Allin in a Wednesday release.
‘Her election as president of the branch is great news for ACTRA’s membership and I believe she will take the organization to the next level,’ added Pruner.
An ACTRA Toronto member for 15 years, Allin’s screen credits include TV movies such as crime drama Stone Cold with Tom Selleck, and feature films including Welcome to Mooseport and Hollywoodland.
