Hot Sheet: Star Wars spinoff The Acolyte leaps in demand

Disney+ original series The Acolyte was one with the force in the first week of June, leading to a jump in demand in Canada.

The Star Wars spinoff series starring Amandla Stenberg debuted at No. 2 on the digital originals list and No. 3 on the overall TV chart. The series was 47.8 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of June 3 to 9, according to Parrot Analytics. The Acolyte premiered on Disney+ on June 4.

Leading the digital and overall chart for the fourth week in a row is Netflix original Bridgerton (73.1). Part one of the series’ third season debuted on May 16, with part two rolling out on June 13.

Prime Video’s Hazbin Hotel (47.1) moved down one spot from the previous week to round out the digital top three.

HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon (48.5) rose in demand on the overall TV chart, climbing two spots to No. 2 ahead of the season two premiere on June 16. Game of Thrones maintained its prior position on the chart at No. 5.
