• Stage and screen veteran Colm Feore has joined the cast of homegrown paranormal series The Listener, playing a mentor to the show’s main character, a telepathic paramedic. The series by Shaftesbury Films, developed by CTV, was bought by NBC last January during the Hollywood writers strike, and is set to air in some 175 countries. Feore, whose recent credits include Clint Eastwood’s Changeling and a recurring role on 24, is represented in the U.S. by Endeavor Talent Agency.

• Cory Monteith (Kyle XY, Kaya) has landed a role as a reluctant singing jock on the hour-long Fox pilot Glee. The comedy, co-written by Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy, revolves around the world of high school glee clubs. Additional scripts have already been ordered and, if all goes as planned, Fox hopes to have the show on air early next year as a potential companion to American Idol. Monteith is repped by Elena Kirschner of Red Management.

• Ryan Robbins has been cast as the leader of a hippie death cult in the feature Leslie, My Name Is Evil. The film is shooting in Toronto, written and directed by Reginald Harkema (Monkey Warfare). Robbins – who is repped by Vickie Petronio and Play Management – currently appears in the sci-fi Sanctuary and plays a recovering drug addict on Global’s The Guard. He will also appear in the upcoming Anne Hathaway feature Passengers.
