Emmy winner John Shannon is the new executive of programming and production for NHL Network, stepping up to manage its efforts in both Canada and the U.S. Shannon will also continue to serve as EVP of programming and production for the National Hockey League.
Prior to joining the NHL and NHL Network, Shannon helped launch Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV as VP of programming and executive producer of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. Shannon also spent six years with Hockey Night in Canada as executive producer, and took an Emmy for his work on NBC’s hockey coverage of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
NHL Network is owned by CTVglobemedia, Insight Sports and a consortium of hockey teams.
