Disney movie Rocks ratings

Camp Rock played well on both sides of the border over the weekend, setting records for both Family Channel and Disney. The June 20 airing of the family MOW scored nearly 420,000 viewers with 8-14s, giving it a 47% share and besting last summer’s smash High School Musical 2.

Family says in total some 850,000 people watched the show on Family, putting its 2+ ratings just behind those of HSM2.

Camp Rock has exceeded expectations and we’re delighted,’ said programming SVP Kevin Wright, in a statement.

On the Disney Channel in the U.S., the movie won its time-slot with 8.9 million viewers, leading second-place CBS by more than 3 million.

Camp Rock was the first of Family Channel’s Family Jams, a summer-long run of musical shows airing day-and-date with Disney Channel. Upcoming broadcasts include a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert on July 26 and The Cheetah Girls: One World on Aug. 22.
