• Seville Pictures and Maximum Film Distribution have a new marketing team, topped by Paul Rotz, Tamara Shannon and Barb Matheson. Rotz is now director of theatrical sales for Canada, while Shannon, as director of marketing and promotions, will push the companies’ theatrical slate and organize special events. Matheson is director of publicity and communications.
• Former Alliance Atlantis exec Bryan Press is the new VP of sales at Cineplex Media, in an effort to beef up its media marketing team.
• Marblemedia has hired Miklos Perlus to the new position of head of content development. Perlus will head up the Toronto shop’s development slate for television, web and mobile. His credits include writing and co-developing CTV’s Instant Star and story editing for Degrassi: The Next Generation.
• Spiritual broadcaster S-Vox has made Peter Miller its COO, sending his predecessor Mark Prasuhn into programming. Prasuhn is now chief content officer, programming for all S-Vox broadcasters, and chair of production/distribution arm VisionTV International, effective immediately.
• The Union of B.C. Performers is looking for a new CEO and chief negotiator following the resignation of Mercedes Watson, who is stepping down after three years at the end of July.
• Toronto-based Peace Arch Entertainment named Paul ‘Bateman’ Davis-Miller to the new position of SVP of U.S. distribution and development, reporting to president and COO John Flock.
