DHX Media has acquired all outstanding shares in Bulldog Interactive Fitness, a franchiser of children’s fitness centers that use video games and other high-tech equipment.
DHX paid US$620,000 and 99,333 shares of its stock for the privately owned company, which has eight Canadian locations.
The acquisition provides DHX Media’s core entertainment properties — including those created by subsidiaries Decode Entertainment, Halifax Film and Studio B Productions — with a new cross-promotional outlet, and is in line with the company’s strategy to exploit its IP across new and emerging platforms.
