MONTREAL — Quebec’s largest French TV network, TVA, is set to launch Canada’s first French-language lifestyle channel.

Although the network won’t confirm when the digital channel Télé-Services will be available, a TVA spokesman confirmed it would be in the coming months.

And although TVA won’t reveal any specific content details, its application to the CRTC proposed offering a digital service devoted to construction, renovation, gardening, interior design and decorating.

When the CRTC issued the licence in August 2005, Astral Broadcasting expressed concern that Télé-Services would compete with existing services. Astral holds a licence for a similar, yet-to-be-launched channel called Chez moi.
