Germany’s Super RTL has inked deals for two Canuck tween-aimed live-action series, including the first two seasons of Shaftesbury’s Life with Derek, and the first season of Decode Entertainment’s The Latest Buzz.
Derek, about a pair of teens struggling to gain control of a shared household, is set to premiere on the channel on Saturday, while no airdate has been set for Buzz, which follows the goings-on at a youth-oriented magazine after they replace their staff with teens. Both series run here on Family Channel.
Derek has been translated into more than 12 languages, airing in territories including Spain, Asia and Sweden. Buzz currently airs in France, Italy and Australia.
‘Life with Derek is rapidly becoming a household name across the globe and we are proud to welcome such a prestigious broadcaster as Super RTL to our family,’ commented Shaftesbury VP of marketing and sales Shane Kinnear in a Tuesday release.
‘Super RTL is the ideal platform for [Buzz] in Germany, and we are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with the channel,’ said Decode president Neil Court.
