Mobifest names winners

Treo Mobifest named the best made-for-mobile shorts Tuesday night, marking the end of the one-night Toronto mini-fest.

U.S. filmmaker Anthony Dusko, a fifth-grade school teacher from Pennsylvania, took best of the festival for his short, What Is a Friend?, while best Canadian went to Egg Love by Zach Math and Jonah Bekhor. Best animation went to Srini Vasan for The Race, while the Eye Weekly Toronto Award went to Christos Tsirbas for Upgrade.

Marc Roussel took the ‘Caught on Treo’ prize for his short Alchemy.

‘Made-for-mobile films have reached a new level of creative excellence and technical sophistication,’ said festival boss Duncan Kennedy, in a statement.
