CTV’s fall season kicks off with a bang the week of Sept. 24, as hit shows including Grey’s Anatomy, the CSIs and Dancing with the Stars return alongside fresh titles such as Private Practice and Big Shots.
The network released details of its fall premieres on Tuesday.
With the notable exception of new teen drama Gossip Girl — going to air one week earlier on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. — most other shows will premiere in the last week of September. Gossip Girl will move to a regular Tuesday 7 p.m. timeslot on Sept. 25.
Dancing with the Stars will have its 90-minute premiere in simulcast with ABC on Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m., followed by Corner Gas and CSI: Miami. Following the wrap of Stars, Gas will move to a regular 9 p.m. slot, preceding the new CBS sitcom Big Bang Theory. The reality show and comedies will air opposite Global’s returning hits Prison Break and Heroes, premiering on Sept. 17 and 24, respectively.
The debut of the fourth season of Global’s House on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. will go head-to-head with, on CTV, a Dancing with the Stars special episode, followed by Law & Order: SVU at 10 p.m. The offbeat new drama Pushing Daisies will join CTV’s Tuesday lineup on Oct. 2 at 8 p.m., airing one day ahead of its slot on ABC.
CTV will premiere the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice, starring Kate Walsh, in simulcast with ABC on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m., before bumping it to 8 p.m. one week later to make room for Criminal Minds, followed by CSI: NY.
Perpetual draws ER, CSI and Grey’s headline a powerhouse Thursday lineup for CTV, which gets underway on Sept. 27 starting at 7 p.m. The new dark comedy Big Shots, starring Dylan McDermott and Michael Vartan, will debut at 10 p.m. that night, airing opposite the second episode of Global’s returning legal drama Shark.
Other September CTV highlights include the premiere of Desperate Housewives on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9 p.m., followed by the Donald Sutherland-starrer Dirty Sexy Money at 10 p.m. The 59th Emmy Awards will air on Sept. 16.
