Incendo Media and Paramount Vantage have inked a theatrical distribution deal that will see the Montreal-based company release titles from the specialty film division of Paramount Pictures to English- and French-language markets in la belle province.
The first film to be released under the new agreement, which was announced June 13, is the drama A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie as the wife of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002. The film will hit theaters in markets including Montreal, Sherbrooke and Quebec City on June 22.
The summer release schedule also includes the documentary Arctic Tale, while the fall slate features the adventure Into the Wild, directed by Sean Penn, the dramedy Margot at the Wedding, starring Nicole Kidman, and the drama There Will Be Blood, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights). ‘Paramount Vantage has an exciting upcoming slate,’ said Incendo president Stephen Greenberg in a release.
‘Incendo has a tremendous amount of experience in the Quebec marketplace and we felt that they were the best suited company to align ourselves with,’ said Paramount Vantage EVP of distribution Rob Schulze.
