YTV has renewed the live-action reality series Prank Patrol — from Montreal’s Apartment 11 Productions — for a third season, just as the kids show has been sold to Norway’s TV2 by distributor MarVista Entertainment.
The series begins production on another 26 half-hours in May. Prank Patrol follows a different prankster every week as they try to hoax an unsuspecting victim.
‘The reason Prank Patrol is a ratings hit for YTV is because real kids are the stars and they have something huge at stake,’ said executive producer Jonathan Finkelstein in a release.
Prank debuted on YTV in the fall of 2005. The show was nominated for a Gemini, Golden Sheaf and Banff World Television Festival Award last year.
