White Iron Pictures has snagged an all-purpose spot on CBC’s schedule, and will see its 90-minute special Avril Lavigne: Exclusive air Monday, April 2 at 8 p.m., stepping into a frame recently vacated by Doctor Who and more recently filled with ice skating, comedy and other performance specials.
The special — in support of Lavigne’s new album The Best Damn Thing — was shot at the Grand Theatre in Calgary, and spliced together with rehearsal footage and interviews with the punk-pop superstar. It is produced by Braun Farnon, Jack Stuart and Lisa Cichelly, and exec produced by Jean Merriman and Lance Mueller.
The scheduling puts it opposite 24 on Global and Dancing with the Stars on CTV, and follows one day after the Juno music awards on CTV.
