YTV is luring viewers from now through March Break with a long list of characters from its top kids series as well as contests – including a chance to be animated into an episode of Captain Flamingo.

The channel’s Spring Break Show-down will put two series on air back-to-back — from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., March 12 -16 — so kids can vote online for their favorites. The winning program for each showdown will air the following day, while the overall winner will get a four-episode marathon during ‘The Zone’ programming block on March 16.

Early promotion will begin on Feb. 26 with on-air and online nudges to get kids involved. On-air promos will drive viewers to YTV.com to vote for their favorite shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, Ruby Gloom and Fantastic Four. Characters from those shows will also appear in ‘campaign videos’ at YTV.com.

A separate promotion kicked off on Monday, giving kids a chance to appear on Captain Flamingo, the hit series by Breakthrough New Media.

The winner will provide a photo of himself or herself and be transformed by animators into a character on the show, though the episode’s airdate has not yet been confirmed. Captain Flamingo‘s second season airs Sundays at 9 a.m. on YTV.
