Toronto’s Sienna Films has scored again at Sundance, selling its urban dance drama How She Move to Paramount Vantage and MTV Films.
The picture, directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid, played in the World Competition at the Utah indie fest and went Paramount ‘s specialty spin-off late Wednesday night.
‘We are overjoyed,’ said Sienna principal Julia Sereny in a release. ‘This has been an amazing experience. We have had three successful visits here and… are so happy to be coming home with another sale.’
The deal is Sienna’s second score at Park City, following its 2004 sale of Rashid’s Touch of Pink to Sony Pictures Classics. It also drew cheers when its New Waterford Girl played in 2000.
How She Move is handled in Canada by Mongrel Media and it due in theaters on March 9.
