YTV and Teletoon lead the way with six nominations each for The Alliance for Children and Television 2005 Awards of Excellence. Programs in all genres and animation classifications will be recognized. This year’s award gala will see two new categories introduced: best interstitial or short program, and best website associated with a children’s program.
Three special honors – a special jury award, an emerging talent award and an outstanding achievement award – will also be presented.
YTV was selected three times in the all-genres category, twice in the animation category, and once for best interstitial. Teletoon was named five times within the animation class and once in the interstitial category. Prodco Nelvana has five nominations in the animation category.
The awards will take place Wednesday, June 1 at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.
