PVP Media launches distribution arm

Johanna Veysset will head up the new division, which is looking to represent animated and live-action shows for kids internationally.

PVP Media has launched a sales division that will be run by former Millimages executive Johanna Veysset as head of distribution and acquisitions.

The Matane, Que.-based prodco quietly began to set up PVP Distribution in April with financial support from the Quebecor Fund and the Canada Media Fund, according to a news release.

The division will focus on selling children’s programming and documentaries internationally and is looking to represent proprietary titles as well as content from third-party producers. Veysset is starting to build a catalogue now and will be at Annecy next week on the hunt for animated and live-action series for preschoolers to teens.

PVP Media is currently developing an animated series called Goose and Cloud (39 x 7 minutes) with CBC Kids attached. It centres on a young gosling leaving his family nest, who learns to understand and process the new emotions he’s feeling with a little help from his friend Cloud. And in terms of completed series, the studio also has Cosmo the Dodo (11 minutes) and Gaumont copro Belle and Sebastian (52 x 11 minutes) under its belt.

Before joining PVP, Veysset worked as a specialist consultant in international distribution for clients including Amuse Animation, KO Distribution and ToonDraw. Prior to that, she held a marketing position at Millimages.
