Kodak cinematography workshops

Kodak is offering five-day cinematography workshops for budding filmmakers in Toronto and Vancouver.

The program is geared to camera enthusiasts ready to make the jump to DOP, but also offers something for experienced lensers wanting to sample the latest technologies, from film stocks to the digital intermediate (DI) process.

The courses feature a combination of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on production methods. Marty Ollstein, who teaches cinematography at various film schools internationally, will run the Vancouver workshops, while DOP/educator Gregory Hudson will lead the program in Toronto.

The workshops will cover topics including film emulsions and methods of controlling the image with exposure, lighting, filtration, flashing, lenses and film processes.

Tuition for the Kodak Cinematography Workshop is $2,000 and includes equipment rentals, locations, meals, post-production facilities, film, processing, crew and talent. Participants in the program also receive a $1,000 certificate for Kodak Motion Picture Film stock.

The workshops run Sept. 13-17 in Vancouver and Oct. 4-8 in Toronto.
