Global Vision buys Studio Concept, Audio-Telepoint

Montreal: Global Vision is adding audio post-production and dubbing to its technical services palette with the acquisition of two established operations, Studio Concept and Audio-Telepoint. Studio Concept, owned by musician Guy Trepanier, specializes in dubbing and ADR. Audio-Telepoint specializes in audio post, including sound design, sound editing and folly.

Both operations will remain in their Old Montreal locations, says Jean-Yves Deschenes, Global Vision’s executive sales manager, international division. Global Vision operates offices in Montreal and New York, and is considering a new office in Toronto.

With the acquisitions, several senior post personnel are joining Global Vision, including industry veteran Diane Boucher, who becomes post-synch manager. Boucher was in charge of voice directing for ADR at Studio Concept and has worked on award-winning shows such as Bonanno, Cher Olivier, Ces Enfants d’ailleurs and Jesus de Montreal.

Chantal Page is the new manager of dubbing and was formerly with Cinar Studios, where she delivered hundreds of international French-language animation episodes and worked on dubbed (English) versions of drama series such as Shehaweh, Blanche and Marguerite-Volant.

Bruno Ruffolo, from Studio Concept, joins Global Vision as sound engineer. Ruffolo has worked on recent Quebec features including Les Dangereux, Les Boys I & II, Le Dernier souffle and Un Homme et son peche, and in TV on Bonanno and The Tale of Teeka. He also recorded albums for musicians Robbie Robertson, Claude Dubois, Carole Laure and Nanette Workman.

Paul Bellerose is the company’s executive sales manager, post-production division.

Global Vision services include film processing and transfer, editing, standards conversion, duplicating, subtitling, closed-captioning and DVD authoring. The company also manages an extensive film and video stock-footage library.
