* Leslie Sole has been appointed CEO, television, for Rogers Broadcasting. Sole has managed CFMT-TV since 1990 and has overseen the launch of Biography, TechTV and MSNBC.
* Groupe TVA has announced a major management reorganization at broadcaster Reseau TVA. Rene Bourdages, former executive with Astral Media, joins TVA as senior VP of broadcasting and operations. Philippe Lapointe becomes VP news and public affairs at both TVA and all-news service LCN. Sophie Pellerin is promoted to VP programming, responsible for program creation and production. And TVA director and producer Real Germain is promoted to the position of general manager, public affairs and special projects.
* Producer/director Helene Perras has joined women’s lifestyle specialty service Canal Vie as director of acquisitions. Perras takes over from Jean Garneau, who is head of acquisitions for both high-tech channel Z and youth channel VRAK.TV.
* At Cinar, Mary Graziano, formerly responsible for development of merchandize licensing, is appointed senior sales executive. Nathalie Lariviere moves over from Seville Pictures to become Cinar sales executive. Both report to Louis Fournier, head of distribution.
* RoseAnna Schick has been appointed to serve as the permanent executive director of the Manitoba Motion Picture Industries Association. She was hired in December in the temporary position of acting executive director.
* Hilary Read has been promoted to COO of BBC Worldwide Canada. The Toronto-based office, which has recently become a federally incorporated company, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Read has been with the company for 22 years.
