Hitachi Denshi America’s broadcast and professional group will introduce two low-cost multi-standard HD cameras at NAB2001.
The SK-3100P features a 2.2 million pixels Interline Transfer CCD and provides simultaneous 1080i HDTV and NTSC output. The SK-3300P also provides multi-standard output and employs a 2.2-million pixels Frame Interline Transfer CCD. Both models are portable electronic field production cameras.
Hitachi’s SK-3000 Series cameras provide separate processing and control of the HDTV and NTSC signals. Two full sets of controls are standard: one for the HDTV signal, and another that independently adjusts the NTSC signal. The cameras have automatic 16:9/4:3 signal conversion, and at the camera control unit, in addition to standard analog and digital HDTV outputs, the signal is digitally converted to an NTSC rate for the serial digital component and analog outputs. Both the SK-3100P and the SK-3300P offer HDTV resolution, f8.0 at 2000 lux sensitivity and a signal-to-noise ratio of 54 dB.
A new integrated, 16:9/4:3 switchable digital pan/tilt camera unit, the PT-1, will also be shown at NAB, featuring a new color touch-screen controller. Hitachi will also demonstrate its environmentally sealed Eagle pan/tilt system developed for remote observation applications. Hitachi’s DK-H3, HV-D15, HV-D16 and HV-D5W camcorders are fully integrated with the Eagle, and provide simple ‘plug and play’ capabilities for any system.
Also making an appearance will be the DK-H3, Hitachi’s first low-end HDTV graphics/POV camera with available fibre-optic interfaces. The HV-D16 high-sensitivity POV camera with integration mode will also be displayed, as well as new cameras for the webcasting market. *
