Umbrella Audio Post, a Toronto company formed by the merger of Sonic Bloom Audio Post and Umbrella Sound, has opened its doors. Sonic Bloom’s credits include the features My Dog Vincent and Hayseed and TV work for CBC, The History Channel and Columbia TriStar Television.

Umbrella’s focus had been on the music biz, with such clients as Blue Rodeo and Treble Charger.

The new Umbrella has already completed the mix on Litmus Productions’ Soul Suitcase, Canadian director Paul DiStefano’s black-and-white follow-up to 1996’s Trouble. It has also been signed on by veteran producer Damian Lee to perform sound design and full audio post on the Dolph Lundgren action flick Legion as well as Passions, starring Judge Reinhold, James Belushi and James Russo as three men in love with the same woman.
