FIPA honors NFB

The International Audiovisual Programme Festival in Biarritz paid tribute to the National Film Board on Jan. 18 for its outstanding body of work and for its ongoing commitment to an ideal of excellence and innovation.

Also at the festival, The Boy Who Saw the Iceberg, an animated film directed by Paul Driessen (3 Misses) and produced by Marcy Page and David Verrall for the nfb, received a Silver fipa in the short program category.

A playful short without words, The Boy Who Saw the Iceberg tells a cautionary tale of boy who, bored with his lot, imagines a diabolical and dangerous life of adventure. •
