Vancouver: Voyageur Film Capital Corp. has a new name, a new advisor and a new acquisition.
With shareholder approval, Vancouver-based Voyageur – parent company of Cadence Entertainment, which is producing On the Nose – will be known as Highwire Entertainment Group. Cadence will become Highwire Entertainment Corp.
The name change better reflects the company’s move toward being a diversified media company active in traditional film, television and new media, including Internet website design, dvd and cd-rom presentations and gaming.
Meanwhile, entertainment sector specialist Rick Griffiths of PricewaterhouseCoopers has been named to the company’s board of advisors. A subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers has been granted 75,000 stock options that are exercisable for five years at $0.23 per share.
Last month, Voyageur signed a letter of intent to acquire Vancouver-based new media marketing company LightRoom fx for $300,000 worth of Voyageur stock. *
