Montreal: The Canadian Television Fund has released interim statistics on the results of its spring 2000 application process. The figures do not include the limited lfp and eip results from this fall’s funding round.
In the year to date, the ctf contributed $202.8 million to 393 projects representing 2,206 hours of new programming and total budgets of $675.9 million.
Breakdown by genre includes: 441 hours of children’s programming, 741 hours of documentaries, 703 hours of drama, 289 hours of performing arts and variety and 30 feature film hours. Producers in Ontario and Quebec received 67% of all ctf funding this spring.
Regional breakdown in dollars, hours and number of projects is as follows: Alberta – $10.6 million, 68 hours, 19 projects; British Columbia – $31.4 million, 194 hours, 55 projects; Manitoba – $1.8 million, 37 hours, 8 projects; New Brunswick – $600,000, 10 hours, 5 projects; Newfoundland – $3.7 million, 13 hours, 6 projects; Nova Scotia – $10.3 million, 67 hours, 19 projects; Northwest Territories/Nunavut/Yukon – $400,000, 8 hours, 3 projects; Ontario – $58 million, 503 hours, 109 projects; Prince Edward Island – $2.5 million, 10 hours, 3 projects; Quebec – $77.4 million, 1,255 hours, 155 projects; and Saskatchewan – $6 million, 41 hours and 11 projects. *
