The New Addams Family, A Feeling Called Glory, You…Me and the Kids – the Teen Years, Cybersix and My Father’s Angel were among the big winners at round one of this year’s Leo Awards – Celebration Awards Ceremony, held May 6 in Vancouver. The annual awards are given in recognition of excellence in the b.c. film and television industry.
The New Addams Family took six awards, including best director of a music, comedy, or variety program or series and best screenwriter of a music, comedy, or variety program or series.
A Feeling Called Glory won four awards including best picture editing of a short drama.
You…Me and the Kids – The Teen Years walked away with the awards for best director and screenwriter of an information series for two distinct episodes.
Two installments of Storm Warning won for both best cinematography and best picture editing of an information series; Cybersix took the award for best animated production and best overall sound of an animated production and the picture My Father’s Angel won in the categories for best overall sound and best production design of a picture.
The Leos, given out at the Celebration Awards Ceremony, cover such categories as musical score, overall sound, production design, editing and awards for information series, lifestyle or talk series and for local news packages.
The remaining Leo Awards winners, to be given at the Gala Award Ceremony on May 13 were unavailable at time of going to press.
