Lions Gate rolls out exec shuffle

Lions Gate Films has made senior personnel changes in its television, Canadian theatrical distribution and Canadian production divisions, and brought sales functions ‘back in-house following a two-year service relationship with Odeon Films.’

The new vice-president of television distribution is Kaela Sheine, an eight-year vet of Lions Gate Films who will add u.s. television sales to her Canadian responsibilities.

In theatrical distribution, John Bain becomes the new vp. Formerly marketing director, Bain oversaw the strong releases of Gods & Monsters and Dogma.

Sandi Silver takes on the role of director, sales and marketing. Before joining lgf in 1998, Silver worked in marketing at Polygram and Buena Vista.

In a release from parent Lions Gate Entertainment, lgf president Jeff Sackman says the company sees Canada as ‘a vital part of our business.’ He says Lions Gate is ‘the only Canadian-based film company with a u.s. distribution arm’ and, as such, offers ‘a distinct advantage in identifying and encouraging homegrown talent.’
