Prime Video has greenlit seven Canadian projects, including three from comedy icon Tom Green.

The streamer made the announcement at its Amazon Connected Worlds event in Toronto.

Green (pictured) will serve as director and executive producer on his projects – the unscripted series Tom Green Country, a yet-to-be-titled comedy special and an unnamed documentary.

The other four productions includes the true crime docuseries, In Cold Water: The Shelter Bay Mystery, which is a coproduction between C3 Media and AJP Productions and directed by by Trish Neufeld. The series looks at the drowning death of a small-town Canadian school teacher in B.C. in 2008, exploring questions around the circumstances that led to it.

A yet-to-be-titled true crime series from Blink49 is also on the slate. The project, directed by Henry Roosevelt and produced by Allyson Luchak, follows a currently unfolding case in Toronto with never-before-seen footage, testimony and evidence. Toby Dormer and Allison Brough serve as executive producers.

Rounding out the projects are a northern Canadian survival show, Hard North and the docuseries 50k First Dates.

Hard North is produced by Blue Ant Studios, in association with Prime Video, National Geographic, and APTN. Paul Kilback is the creator and showrunner. Exec producers include Matthew Hornburg, Mark J.W. Bishop, Donna Luke and Tara Elwood. Blue Ant holds worldwide distribution rights for the series.

50k First Dates is produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment, with Carrie Mudd and Brent Hodge serving as executive producers. Hodge will also serve as director.

“We are thrilled to be working with so many of the best producers in Canada to bring these titles to our Canadian customers. From award-winning Canadian titles to must watch guilty pleasures we are offering even more content our audiences want to see from great Canadian talent,” said Shaun Alperin, head of content, Prime Video, Canada.

The news comes fast on the heels of Prime announcing a partnership with the NHL for NHL Coast To Coast, a weekly studio show that will air live on Thursday nights, and feature live look-ins, highlights and expert analysis of every NHL game.

The new series is produced by NHL Productions in collaboration with Prime Video. More information, including talent and production details, will be announced at a later date.

The series joins the recently-announced Prime Monday Night Hockey, which will stream national regular season Monday night NHL games exclusively on Prime Video in Canada.
