Montreal: Charles Biname’s ensemble love story La Beaute de Pandore will open the 18th edition of the Rendez-vous du cinema quebecois retrospective Feb. 17 at a gala screening at Montreal’s Cinema Imperial. A Quebec City launch at the Musee de la Civilization is set for Feb. 23.
The film is scripted by Biname (Eldorado, Le Coeur au poing) and novelist Suzanne Jacob and features a number of the director’s preferred performers including Pascale Bussieres as Pandore, Jean-Francois Casabonne, Maude Guerin, Pascale Montpetit and James Hyndman.
The Montreal leg of the 18th Rendez-vous, the industry’s annual film and video retrospective, runs from Feb. 17-26.
La Beaute de Pandore was produced by Lorraine Richard of Cite-Amerique and will be launched in theatres by Alliance Atlantis Vivafilm starting Feb. 18.
