Toronto-based entertainment agency Touchwood PR is taking over lifestyle and event publicity shop Rock-It Promotions.
The move expands the capabilities of both firms to reach across the entertainment, arts and lifestyle industries. The newly unified team will begin operations under the Touchwood PR name effective immediately, according to a news release.
Founded in 2009, Touchwood PR has built its reputation in film, television and entertainment, representing leading festivals and events, film distribution companies, streamers and prominent actors and directors. It has supported campaigns for clients such as Cineplex, Fan Expo Canada, Netflix, the National Ballet of Canada, Telefilm Canada and WarnerMedia.
Rock–It Promotions, the PR shop founded in 2000 by Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski, has brought campaigns to life for brands such as RBC, Lindt, General Mills and Minute Rice, spanning 25 years. Goldblatt-Sadowski is staying on as a senior consultant.
“Deb and I have had a personal and professional friendship over the span of our 25+ year careers, and our deep trust and respect for one another makes this decision easy,” said Andréa Grau, founder and owner of Touchwood PR, in a statement.
Grau told Playback sister publication strategy that Touchwood is acquiring Rock-It and its clients as well as the team so the transition will be seamless. The team that was previously Rock-It will continue to work on the clients being moved over, and “we will add team members to some of those, where needed, and vice versa – some of the Rock-It team members will join some of the existing Touchwood clients, where needed.”
According to Grau, the best part of the expanded team and skill set is that it is now in a position to be able to take on more clients and also provide expanded services to those already on its roster.
