* David McLennan has been named president and coo of Bell ExpressVu. Having been with the company since before its launch in September 1997, McLennan was vp of finance and coo.
* The Quebec government has named career civil servant and president of Regie du Cinema Pierre Lafleur president of Societe de Developpement des Entreprises Culturelles (sodec), the provincial cultural funding and certification agency.
Lafleur replaces Pierre Lampron, recently named president of TV 5 for the Americas.
* Former broadcast and marketing executive Claire Samson is the new president and director general of l’Association des Producteurs de Films et de Television du Quebec, the 100-member Quebec film and tv producers association. She begins her new duties with the apftq Jan. 10 and replaces Raymond Breard, who resigned last month.
Samson has held senior posts in broadcasting over a 20-year period with Radio-Canada, tqs and tva.
* Former senior auditor at Deloitte and Touche Daniel Proulx has joined Telescene Film Group as vp, finance. He replaces Vern Di Lembo, director of finance, who is leaving Telescene to pursue other opportunities.
* Mario Mota joins the Specialty and Premium Television Association as director, policy and regulatory affairs. Mota moves to the sptv from the post of editor at Canadian Communications Reports, a broadcasting industry trade journal.
* Veronique Gauriot has been named the interim officer of market development for Telefilm Canada’s Asia Pacific Initiative. Gauriot’s qualifications include a stint as an international sales agent for Mediamax.
* David Jackson takes over as Canamedia’s vp of North American sales and acquisitions. Jackson is a former president and gm of Fox, Astral and a program director and vp of marketing at ChumCity Productions.
* Sally Southey is the new senior director, corporate communications and public affairs at cbc/src, effective Jan. 4. A former journalist in both public and private broadcasting, Southey was most recently communications director for the Competition Bureau. Southey replaces Laurie Jones, who left the Corp in October.
* Felipe del Pozo has been named communications director at Montreal’s Productions Pascal Blais. Del Pozo has held posts at MusiquePlus and tva, working on Le Poing J.
* Pip Bola has joined Astral Television Networks as director, technical operations based at atn’s BCE Place offices in Toronto. Bola was director of business development at Telelatino prior to joining Astral. He reports to Chris Bell, vp, technology.
* Octapixx Worldwide has appointed Brian Patterson international sales manager. Patterson was executive producer at Stornoway Productions.
The company has also named Alan Diner manager of business affairs. Diner will oversee all legal and business affairs. Diner most recently worked as a lawyer for firms in Toronto and Ottawa, specializing in various areas of international law.
* Voyageur president and ceo Kathleen Martin, vp Shelley Kirk, fund manager Robert Knight and chairman Scott Kennedy were re-elected to the board of Vancouver’s Voyageur. Gold mining executive Ian Telfer and securities lawyer Wade Nesmith have also joined the board.
