Vancouver: As Playback went to press, Vancouver’s Peace Arch Entertainment was offering ‘no comment’ to rumors it is involved in the new David Hasselhoff action series AKA Picasso – 22 episodes about a glamorous art thief who swaps his trade secrets with a covert government agency instead of taking a lengthy prison term.

However, Peace Arch did not deny its participation.

The greenlit project involves u.s.-based Kaleidoscope Media Group and Germany-based Movie Factory Film and Medien Capital Treuhand. BKS Entertainment will handle North American syndication sales.

According to the u.s. entertainment trades, AKA Picasso will be executive produced by Hasselhoff, former Paramount/mgm executive Frank Yablans, entertainment lawyer Larry Mortorff and Jan McCormack.

At press time, there was no word whether the show would be produced out of Vancouver, or when production would begin.
