Montreal: Producer Nicolas Clermont is back in business as an independent following a full and amicable settlement with Behaviour Communications.
Clermont retains rights to the trademark and name Filmline International; Behaviour retains rights to the various acquired subsidiaries using the Filmline name, including the one-off production entities, which it will rename.
‘Basically Filmline is again becoming a privately owned independent producer in the true sense of the word,’ says Clermont.
As part of the settlement, Clermont retains rights to the 22-hour sci-fi adventure series The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, coproduced with Talisman Crest of the u.k.
Clermont expects to announce Filmline’s ’99 production plans, including one or two feature films and perhaps a new tv series, sometime around the Cannes Film Festival, May 12-23.
