With mere days until the ctf filing deadline, funding applications are rumored to number 800. Last year, there were approximately 450 applications. eip only and eip/lfp tv applications are due Feb. 15. lfp only tv apps are due March 15.

With many broadcasters reportedly coming in at the 50% mark, producers say the 70% threshold is readily obtainable. A log jam of tied applications is expected at 70%. Producers project licence fees are up between 8% and 9% as a result of the new ctf guidelines.

The crtc has issued a call for comments on the development of a new licensing framework for pay and specialty services.

The crtc is also seeking input on related issues. Submissions are due April 9.
